You will have a tutorial once every two weeks to review your progress and at the end of every four weeks a short test before moving up a level. Students for General English classes must be aged 18 years or over, except where stated. Lessons last 50 minutes in all cases. Supplementary materials and unlimited use of the library and Self Access facilities are included in the tuition fee. At St Giles there is a strict maximum of 12 students per General/Intensive English course, and a maximum 5 students per Executive class. Learning English at St Giles doesn't just stop upon the completion of the course. Through our website, students can take a "daily lesson" and discuss issues in English in our chat room, 24 hours a day.

This course is run on a half-day basis: you can choose to study in the morning or in the afternoon - prices vary according the option that you choose, so please check the fees page for more information. The emphasis is on communication skills and the program includes listening comprehension, textbook study, practice in the key structures of English and pronunciation practice. These courses are for longer-stay students who want to gain maximum experience of the American way of life, and take a public examination in English. The minimum period of enrolment is 2 sessions (25-27 weeks), and students can enrol for up to 40 weeks. The Gaylord (10 minutes walk to school) Each room has a kitchenette, much like a studio apartment. No meals are served. There are no refunds for an early departure. A $20 key deposit is required when you check in, which is returned when you check out. Shared rooms are suitable only for friends travelling together ? room mates cannot be found at the Gaylord. Happy Hour is every Friday night.
