We are one of the few schools that offers a specific Christmas course. We close only for national holidays, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day and are open the rest of the time. The students are able to enjoy a typical British Christmas in a family home. Christmas supplement in a host family £30. Enrolment Fee £50.

Homestay – London Families are carefully inspected and selected by our Accommodation Officer. They offer single or twin rooms as students prefer and breakfast and dinner daily and all meals at weekends. Many are within walking distance of the school, but some are best reached by a short bus ride.

Provides a special course over the Christmas and
New Year period each year.
The St Giles Christmas Course combines a 2-week General English course with the chance to experience a typical English or American Christmas with a host family for 3 weeks. The course content is general and covers a mixture of grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. The emphasis is on practical communication and speaking skills. Special topics are also taught to allow students to make the most of their time in England over Christmas, e.g. shopping vocabulary and British customs.
We also run some special Christmas Social Programme activities such as a visit to a carol concert in a church, a trip to see a Christmas show at the theatre, going to see the 'Holiday on Ice' show etc. The cost of these activities is not included in the price - students just pay for those activities in which they wish to participate

There are 9 days of General English tuition: 18th December 2006 - 5th January 2007. There are no lessons from 25th December to 1st January 2007.
Students spend 3 weeks living with a host family and celebrate Christmas with the family. During the week of 25th December students receive full board and the cost of this is included in the total fees for accommodation.

BELL Christmas Course |
The Christmas Course is one of the few opportunities to study in the UK whilst experiencing a traditional English Christmas.
This course combines 15 hours a week of language development classes with six hours a week of either Academic English (including IELTS preparation) or ‘English Extra’ classes which focus on the topic of ‘Christmas’.
Students also get the chance to enjoy a fantastic social programme which focuses on traditional Christmas activities such as parties, the pantomime and carol concerts.
The course takes place at our Saffron Walden centre and residential accommodation is provided.

Where a UK public holiday falls on a Monday, your course will start on
Tuesday and you should arrive on the holiday Monday. Classes end on Fridays
and departure dates are on Saturdays.
